Preamble: Every client is required to read and agree to this
Policy Agreement prior to any grooming services being performed.
By booking an appointment, you hereby entrust your pet(s) to
Furry Funville for the purpose of grooming your pet(s) under the
following terms.
1. Safety, Accidents & Emergencies
Our grooming services are carried out with complete attention.
Due care will be taken with the pet(s) for the safety of the
pet(s) and groomer. However, there is always a possibility for
accidents or problems due to equipment or the unpredictable
nature of grooming processes.
• Veterinary Expenses Waiver (REVISED): In the event of any
accident or problem, the owner will be informed immediately. If
the pet remains calm and stationary on the grooming table and an
injury occurs due to the groomer’s error, defined as improper
use of equipment (e.g., clippers, scissors, or other grooming
tools), Furry Funville will be responsible for all costs related
to transportation and veterinary treatment of the pet(s).
However, if the pet is uncooperative, agitated, or difficult to
groom, and an injury occurs as a result of the pet’s behavior,
the owner will be solely responsible for all costs due to the
transportation and treatment of the pet(s).
• Table and Tub Safety: We commit to using harnesses or safety
restraints on the grooming table and in the tub to ensure
safety. However, if the pet(s) jumps, falls, or sustains injury
due to sudden movement, anxiety, or distraction while
restrained, Furry Funville is not responsible for the resulting
injury, unless the injury is directly caused by the groomer’s
improper use of equipment while the pet is calm and cooperative.
The client agrees that the full cost of any emergency treatment,
including veterinarian bills, remains the owner’s responsibility
in cases where the pet’s behavior contributes to the incident.
• Minor Incidents: I am aware that if my pet(s) does not respond
to the groomer and remain still during the grooming procedure,
accidents such as nicks from clippers or scissors or toenail
trimmers can happen.
• Emergency Authorization: Client authorizes the groomer to act
as his/her agent in the event emergency veterinarian services,
boarding, care-taking, and/or transportation is necessary and
agrees to pay all associated costs unless covered by Furry
Funville as outlined above.
2. Health, Vaccinations & Behavior
• Health Disclosure: The owner of the pet must inform the
groomer of any health conditions, allergies, sensitivities, or
pre-existing medical conditions that may affect the services or
the pet’s behavior during grooming. Grooming may expose unknown
medical conditions or aggravate a current one.
• Vaccinations: We require current proof of Rabies, DHLP-Parvo &
Bordetella vaccinations. This policy is strictly enforced. If no
proof is provided, we will have to confirm vaccination with your
Veterinarian BEFORE you leave your pet(s).
• Muzzling & Restraint: If necessary for the safety of the pet(s)
and the groomer, muzzles, elastic collars, slings, straps, etc.,
will be humanely used and are acceptable. For the pet(s) to
properly respond to the groom, it is essential that the pet(s)
be alone with the groomer.
• Refusal of Service/Aggression: Furry Funville has the right to
refuse or cease service at any time if the pet is deemed unsafe,
too large, or displays aggressive behavior. Customer understands
that all bites will be reported to the local authorities as
required by law, and the client may be charged the full price of
the groom.
• Waiver of Liability: Customer assumes all liabilities,
financial and otherwise, for the behavior and health of their
pet(s). The groomer will be held harmless from damage, loss or
claims arising from any known or unknown pre-existing condition
of the pet(s).
3. Matting and Coat Condition
• Humane Clipping: We practice humanity over vanity. If a pet’s
coat is excessively matted, de-matting will only be attempted if
it can be done in less than 15 minutes and without causing the
pet undue stress or pain.
If not, a “shave down” is required in accordance with humane
practice.
• Shave Down Risks: I am aware that a shave down may
dramatically change my pet’s appearance, expose pre-existing
skin conditions, and carries an increased risk of clipper/brush
irritation.
• Additional Charges: The groomer will de-mat the pet (if
possible) at $1 per minute (minimum $15) in addition to the
regular grooming fee. Flea baths incur an additional $15 charge.
4. Appointment Policy
• Completion Time: A typical groom can be completed in 3 to 5
hours. If your pet has behavior or coat problems, the time will
be longer. Repeated calls only cause further delay.
• Late Policy: If you are more than 15 minutes late for your
appointment, we reserve the right to refuse service, and the
full groom price will be charged.
• Collection: If you arrive to pick up your pet and they are
still being groomed, please do NOT talk to them or allow them to
see you, as an excited pet can be dangerous to continue to work
on.
5. Media Release (REVISED):
By booking an appointment, the client grants Furry Funville
permission to take photographs and videos of the pet(s) before
and after the grooming process and to use such media for
promotional purposes, including but not limited to posting on
our social media accounts, website, and marketing materials,
unless the client explicitly informs the groomer at the time of
the grooming session that they do not wish for any photos or
videos to be taken. If the client does not provide such notice,
they waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product
and release Furry Funville from any claims related to the use of
these images or videos.
FINAL AGREEMENT
By booking an appointment, I confirm that I have read and
understand and agree to the above terms and my rights and
obligations for the grooming and maintenance of my pet(s), and
in consideration of the grooming services of Furry Funville. I
am the legal owner or caregiver of this pet.
